Shipping Surcharges
What are your delivery methods?
We use FedEx Ground as our primary delivery method, but occasionally with smaller filter sizes, we will ship with a service called FedEx SmartPost. FedEx SmartPost will deliver your packages to the nearest United States Postal Service after which the USPS will deliver the package the last leg to your residence.
What are the surcharges?
There are 42,728 zip codes in the United States. Of those, FedEx and UPS both consider 23,437 Delivery Area Surcharges (DAS zip codes). These DAS zip codes are usually in rural areas where it costs the carrier more money to deliver packages. As a result, FedEx charges DAS surcharges based on four different types of addresses. The pricing is broken down below:
- Residential DAS - $2.75 per shipment
- Residential Extended DAS - $3.00 per shipment
- Commercial DAS - $1.85 per shipment
- Commercial Extended DAS - $1.85 per shipment
